positivefitsmart asked: How do you own a beagle in a large city and living in an apartment? Mine hates apartments and I would love to move to a city. It’s been relatively easy living in a big city with a beagle. We moved to the city when our dog was 6 years old, so we were a little nervous as to how he would adapt. What we’ve learned is that dogs LOVE smells and what better place for smells, than NYC?! Just keep them to a schedule and take them for walks and everything works out perfectly! NYC has vets everywhere and it’s pretty easy to find a dog walker or doggy overnight care if you need it. Having a dog does significantly reduce the number of apartments available to you, but it’s not impossible. If you can afford to have a dog (dogs cost money no matter where you live; vet bills, food, etc…), you can manage a dog in the city with ease. |
